Abstract

This study examines the methodological approaches adopted by Shaykh Ja’far al-Subhani in Hadith criticism. It explores the scientific foundations of his evaluation of narrations, highlighting his methodology in both chain (isnad) and text (matn) criticism, as well as his use of Qur’anic, rational, and historical evidence in assessing reports. The research also provides a comparative analysis between al-Subhani’s methodology and those of selected contemporary Hadith scholars. Using descriptive, analytical, and comparative methods, the study concludes that al-Subhani developed a balanced critical approach that combines the classical heritage of Hadith criticism with contemporary scholarly methods, making his contribution significant in modern Shi’i Hadith studies.
